AI-Native Tools for Physics-Based Engineering

Artifact is an AI system that understands the physical world. It combines physics reasoning with open source tools to accelerate systems engineering, modeling and simulation, test data analysis, control systems design, and more.

Harness Engineering Superpowers

Artifact is designed to give intuitive and creative engineers the canvas to explore and iterate.

🛰️

Physics Reasoning

Artifact's semantic layer enforces physics principles and assembles analysis artifacts for you, handling coding minutae and managing the integrity of interfaces between various software tools, data files, and model components.

📝

Collaborative Workflows

Artifact maintains a single-source-of-truth system specification according to physics principles. Requirements, supplier specifications, and other system properties are shared among users.

🧰

Hardcore Specialization

Subject matter expertise is built into Artifact's growing library of AI agents. Tasks like system identification, software-in-the-loop testing, and Monte Carlo studies will become increasingly automated.

Specialized Tool Integrations

Artifact expertly uses open source engineering tools as well as proprietary company toolsets.

3D Model Generation

Artifact generates a JSON specification of your vehicle configuration and compiles it into the Engineering Sketchpad (ESP) format. These 3D models can be used for packaging and configuration studies and exported to CFD tools.

Aerodynamics Modeling

Aerodynamics models are generated using the USAF Digital Datcom program then parsed into Python code for easy integration into design studies and 6-DoF simulations.

Open Source Engineering

We believe that the future of engineering tooling is open source. Artifact leverages the Python Control Systems Library for dynamics and controls problems. Tools used by Artifact to generate ESP and Datcom models are available on our GitHub.

Artifact can also run on-premise and integrate with proprietary, air-gapped company toolsets and data.

The Future of Engineering

To move beyond Matlab, we're developing Artifact to use the same infrastructure that drives software engineering while also reducing the coding overhead that distracts from physics-based engineering. Our AI helps by integrating open source tools in a structured manner, improving the reliability and pace of design iterations.
